As parents of a figure skater, we wanted to design products inspired by our daughter’s love for figure skating. When our daughter first began to skate, we purchased apparel related strictly to skating on the ice, such as skating leggings and jackets. As our daughter became more and more involved in the sport, she wanted to wear clothing related to or inspired by figure skating.
It was difficult for our daughter to find something that she liked. I worked as a 3D Artist and thought why not try my hands on designing some apparel for our daughter? Coming up with designs for apparel is WAY more difficult then I thought but ideas slowly trickled out. All of the figure skating inspired apparel are all inspired, approved or even designed by my daughter. She proudly wears her apparel designs around school and everywhere else.
As parents of a figure skater, we realized that we have overgrown equipment and apparel that is just taking up space in our closets. We thought why not sell it and make some money while helping someone or family buy used, but in good condition, equipment at a lower cost.
Besides being able to make money from selling the used equipment, we realized how expensive the sport is. On top of coaches, rink, off-ice and ballet costs, there’s also the equipment, apparel and accessories as well. We wanted to create a community of figure skaters and/or figure skating families to help lessen the burden of costs related to figure skating by creating a marketplace where used figure skating related products can be sold and bought at lower prices. Businesses can also utilize the marketplace to sell their unique items, whether it be apparel, protective gear, equipment or accessories.
